Folk Project Open Stage

The Folk Project Open Stage, North Jersey’s premier open stage, is back with an online reboot the second Friday of every month. Just like in the old, live days, the Open Stage begins with a featured performance by a member artist. That’s followed by two-song sign-up slots by some extraordinary artists. It’s a great show for the audience and performers alike.

As before, we’ll have THREE ROOMS, guaranteed to enhance your musical pleasure. Choose one for your playing and listening pleasure.

Room 1. The Main Stage: Just like in-person, the evening starts with a short set by one of our own, after which performers will get a two-song slot and a chance to entertain for our admiring audience.

To sign up and perform, email

Room 2. The Terrace Room: Scotty Rovner and Glen Coleman are back, hosting the beloved song circle. Show up, take a turn, and share a song. You loved this live, so we’re bringing it back virtually.

Room 3. The Vidal Sassoon Green Room: In this private room, musicians can do a sound check with our Open Stage Tech Expert. He’ll help you adjust your setup to make sure your performance sounds great over the internet. He can also check your makeup and tell you that you look marvelous.

Every Open Stage begins with a featured set by a gifted performer selected from our Folk Project community.  Diane Polledri is this month’s Open Stage Opener. Diane randomly attended a Folk Project Acoustic Getaway five years ago and considers it one of the best decisions she’s ever made.  To share music with so many talented people is a gift that she values beyond measure. Her musical mentors include Abbie Garder, Antje Duvekot, Tracy Grammer, and Ellis Paul.  But, her greatest inspiration has come from the people in and associated with the Folk Project. Diane is thrilled to share some songs with you to open the show.

It’s an honor and joy to bring back this special part of our community, and I invite you all to join us at

—Sincerely, Todd Dennison, Chairman
