Folk Project Artists Showcase
Scott Rovner, Carrie Cantor, and Glen Coleman are seasoned and talented performers who exemplify the vibrant North Jersey music scene and epitomize the Folk Project community as a meeting place for local talent and a springboard for aspiring and accomplished artists.
We can finally play together in a safe, vaccinated environment, and, in true Folk Project fashion, we’ll celebrate the long-lost ability and newfound joy of getting together by getting together and making music.
Scott Rovner has been crooning his way from the middle-ages right through to modern times by inspiring audiences with his resonant and meaningful baritone and an attention to detailed flat picking. Scotty’s musical career includes the almost-famous Summer Rhoades Band, numerous performances at the famed Philadelphia Folk Festival, East Coast appearances at your friendly neighborhood folk venues, and co-leading our beloved Terrace Room Song Circle at The Folk Project’s Open Stage.
Carrie Cantor is an enchanting vocalist and a dynamic performer, known for her exquisite renditions of folk and pop songs, with the occasional high-powered rocker thrown in for musical excitement. She’s earned praise as a lead singer in a number of North Jersey music combos, as a precious gem in the Montclair music scene, and as a local feature in area concert series and coffeehouses.
Glen Coleman can write a song a minute – he’s that prolific. The overwhelming spontaneity and joy he brings to every performance is maximal and infectious. With a smooth tenor, accomplished guitar technique and a passion for everyone and everything around him, this moving lyricist packs his songs with meaning and feelings. His signature style is one-of-a-kind, but his message of a life worth loving is universal. Glen is also a co-leader and shining star of The Folk Project Open Stage’s Terrace Room.
